    Summary of Application Experience

**If schools send out \"Complete\" Emails, I will mark them above as \"C.\" The abbreviations match most of those used by others on this website. I will add some details about myself and any necessary commentaries (impressions post-interview, what plays into my final decision, etc.) sometime after the cycle ends/when I\'ve withdrawn or been accepted from/by the school, to preserve a hint of anonymity. Hopefully, this can serve as a big help to myself and someone else out there! :-D

    ********************************INTERVIEWS******************************************

    TCOM interview: 08/04/2011

First interview. And wow. TCOM is incredible, and I have to say, I would feel comfortable going to DO school so long as it was at TCOM. Great facilities, awesome students, only true issue is the whole \"class from 8-5 nonstop\" thing. I\'m not super crazy about Ft. Worth either. Withdrew.

    TTU-El Paso interview: 08/11/2011

Again, another awesome school. The campus is super tiny, but El Paso is a much more beautiful town than I could have ever imagined. The first class from El Paso is just now entering their clinical rotations there. I would be more interested if there was a track record behind the school\'s revolutionary pre-clinical curriculum and knowing there was a steady patient base in the clinical rotations. Withdrew.

    UTSA interview: 08/15/2011

Older facilities, but still nice. I got a good sense of cohesiveness within the class, and despite the reputation of administration there as being uptight, students said there was definitely a conscious effort to change that going on. The pre-clinical curriculum is changing for the 2012 entering class (which should have changed for the 2011 entering class; hence, UTSA got LCME Probationary status), which might put us under the \'guinea pig\' status, but they seem to have been very slow and careful about how this new curriculum would look, which is nice. The opportunity to be in Harlingen as a medical student, but acting as an intern resident, is very attractive to me. San Antonio as a city is nice, and has a hybrid feel of big city/small town. Plus I\'d still be able to cheer on the Mavs from SA! Withdrew due to matching at UTMB.

    UTMB interview: 08/19/2011
    Match school!

    Georgetown interview: 09/19/2011

    UTH interview: 09/23/2011

    TTU-Lubbock interview: 10/28/2011

Lubbock has great facilities, a proud student body, and near complete control of patients around the Red River and the TX Panhandle. Rotations are split into three sites, Midland/Odessa, Lubbock, and Amarillo, which can ensure more individual attention and responsibility on wards. Interviewers were both great people, and my interviews here were definitely the most laid back of all the schools I\'ve been at thus far. Not sure if I could grow to like the city though, especially if I ended up staying extra years for dual degree or even just for residency. Withdrew.

    UT-Southwestern interview: 12/10/2011
