Brief Profile:
GPA: - UGgpa: cgpa = 2.6 - Ggpa = 3.5 - Currently doing an informal postbac. ----> my undergrad gpa sucked for many reasons. But I can honestly say that it was not due to partying or anything like that. I was new to the US and I had a hard time with English, some family issues and deaths, needing to work part-time (2 to 3 jobs), and I was a naive 16-yo girl who didn\'t know what the heck I was doing when I went to college. But meeting some people changed me. When I went to grad school, I finally figured some things out, which really helped me keep a good gpa, seeing as how my undergrad one was dismal. I\'ve always wanted to be a doctor since i was a kid. I know I have no one else to blame for my past and I paved a tough road for myself. I\'ve always thought that maybe I\'m having such a hard time with this because I\'m not meant to be a physician. But every time I try to think of other career paths, I always come back to this. I\'m just hoping that someone, just one, will look past my mistakes and give me a chance to prove myself. I\'m sure this is what I am meant to be. I know I can be a good physician.
MCAT: - took it the first time as a sophomore in 2004: 17P (yikes) - 2008: 19Q (ugh) - 2010: 19P (makes me want to hang myself) - 2011: ----
a lot of volunteer clinical experience both at a county and community hospital did a couple of research papers. None published though. tons of leadership and community service been on 4 medical mission trips totaling about 9 months physician shadowing total about 400 hours (both MD and DO) been working since I was 16, throughout undergrad and grad school, sometimes 2 to 3 jobs at a time other non-medical EC\'s
*** i know i need to step it up with my gpa (working on it) and especially my mcat (i know, needs a lot of work). i really want to make it and i pray that i will. all advice and comments are welcomed!!! ^__^
